The Backrooms "fandom" pisses me off

I'm being dramatic, obviously, but i do have to clench my teeth a little whenever people talk to me about the backrooms. I genuinely wonder sometimes why people are so terribly shallow. Taking everything you read for a fact will rot your brain eventually, no?

I'm being too harsh on people who just want to have a good time in online spaces, but to an extend it feels like they wasted such a great concept. I've been involved with it ever since it started back on 4chan. I was obsessed with the concept of liminal spaces, and how they affect us as humans. Then slowly but surely, this horror flair was added. I wasn't complaining. Who am I, if not a horror enthusiast?

But it gets to a point. Science fiction is only peak if some things in it make sense. otherwise you could rule it out as fantasy in a modern setting. And that's where I'm coming to my points of entities, noclipping, and probably time too.

Noclipping, the way it is described can be compared to quantum tunneling irl. I'm not a scientist and have no real idea of how to correctly word this, but in my brain I understand what I'm talking about. Basically, there is an ASTRONOMICALLY low chance you could phase through an object if the conditions are just right. This is scientifically proven and works on small-scale objects already, as far as I'm aware. So now youre phasing through a wall by pure accident and since the fabric of reality somehow can't handle that, you fall into this alternate chain of dimensions which looks just BARELY like real life. That's Peak science fiction!

"Right, so what's the issue?" The issue is the chances of that happening. Sure, let it happen to that character of yours that you want to stuff so desperately into the backrooms, but the chance that he'll meet another human being in his lifetime are ZERO, due to how little the chances are to get in at all. Unless we consider a different factor which i'll mention in another paragraph. Another way to possibly meet another human again is by stumbling across Scientists from a research institute, with an insane amount of luck. Afterwards i'd advise you to never try gambling again.

Entities. I was never a big fan of entities in the Backrooms, they ruin the Liminality to an extent. But at times i do appreciate their existence, since they can add conflict to a story. This is a kind of love-hate relationship to me. But here's the question; where do they even come from? There's two answers i can think of regarding that question. Number one would be; they noclipped there from entirely different planets- and two; They are a poor attempt of whatever level they're in to imitate humans. and i like the second option SO. MUCH.

Let's look at how the backrooms could potentially look. I've illustrated something here.

Basically, we can look at reality as a fractal of some sort. i'd say we take the displayed tree fractal, mirror it horizontally, and there we have every reality possible displayed. We are just one of many, and each "reality" is a different level. Each worse than the one prior. Not necessarily more deadly or dangerous, but a worse imitation of something in our world. It gets to a point where it's so far from reality, that it just becomes something new, with non euclidean geometry and completely new physics rules.

I like the idea that the entities are vaguely human and loose more and more of their humanity until, at some point, they disappear completely.

Here I'd like to mention my favourite Backrooms level; the tower of Babel. The way it's described is, that this level was basically God's trashcan. he banned the tower from our reality and hid it deep in the backrooms. The closer you get, the Wiki states, the weirder it'll get. things will appear. perfect example of non euclidean geometry, or even a 4th dimension. And amongst other things... a skewed spacetime.

To get to the topic of time here; one of my favourite entities in the backrooms are neanderthals. if they noclipped back in their time and didn't evolve, time might run differently in the backrooms entirely. Makes sense; different dimensions, less accuracy. Therefore, it could be possible to meet survivors from the future, the far past, or yourself again. Maybe even from an entirely different dimension. which makes for insane storytelling. Wounds may heal differently if at all, ageing becomes an entirely new concept. What would you do if you were to suddenly age backwards?

If you couldn't tell, I'm very passionate about this.
